Burt McGaughey
Executive Pastor
Burt came on staff in May, 2002, serving initially as Minister of Bible Study and Fellowship. He became the Executive Pastor in July, 2003.

A native Houstonian, Burt accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 13. He attended San Marcos Baptist Academy for four years, graduating in 1965. He later attended the University of Houston, graduating with a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology in 1971.

After college, he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Captain.  Burt worked in various facets of construction, maintenance, and engineering management in the Pulp, Paper and Wood Products industry for 11 years. Although having experienced his call to ministry in college, it wasn't until 1985 that the Lord moved him and his family to Louisville, KY to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated in 1988 with a Master of Arts in Christian Education. He has since served churches in Kentucky, Virginia, and here in Texas.

Burt and his wife Gale were married in 1970, and have two children,. They also have four grandchildren.
