MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, a non-denominational international organization that exists to encourage mothers to be the best they can be. Boerne MOPS is a monthly program that meets at First Baptist Church Boerne led by mothers, for mothers with children age birth through kindergarten.
At Boerne MOPS we...
- provide a friendly and relaxing atmosphere
- encourage and learn from one another
- enjoy breakfast
- learn from an informative speaker
- meet in small discussion groups
MOPS meetings are the perfect opportunity for moms to connect and encourage each other through small groups and other activities. It also serves as a place to explore the practical, emotional, and spiritual sides of mothering. MOPS also provides opportunities for social outings geared specifically for preschool aged children and their mothers.
The new theme for the 2013-2014 MOPS year is listed below. Registration is underway for the new year.
The 2013-2014 MOPS International theme is A Beautiful Mess. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”
Moms live in messes. The toys, crumbs, and spit-up are their natural surroundings. Moms often feel like a mess. They are exhausted, under- showered, and hormonal. Their past and present circumstances and decisions can leave them feelings inadequate for God's love and purposes. A Beautiful Mess reminds moms that beauty can come out of their difficult spots. The grime of mothering young children brings the beauty of motherhood. The bruises of life can bring God's redemption. Embrace Your Story reminds moms that their past, present and future can be used for good. God knows where each of us has been, where we are today, and has set in motion where we are headed.Meetings are held 9-11:30am in the FBC Family Life Building Fellowship Hall located at 631 S. School Street in Boerne. The fee is $50 per mother per year. Childcare is free! (see more below) Pre-registration is recommended, but registration at the door is also available before each meeting.

While Moms are being nurtured in MOPS, their little ones are being cared for and are having fun in MOPPETS. In this program, children experience God's love in a preschool-like setting. Through a Bible-based curriculum, children hear stories, learn songs and experience hands-on activities and crafts.
MOPPETS volunteers and staff who care for the children are loving, Christian people who have a heart for small children. They also hope to bless the MOPS Moms with the peace of mind that their children are being cared for in a fun, educational environment.
