DESCRIPTION:Young Adult Guatemala Mission Trip\nAugust 1 – 7\, 2026\nCost $1\,500 per person\nApplication Due: April 1\, 2026\nDeposit: $500 due upon Application Approval \nPurpose of the Trip:\nYoung Adults (18-25ish) are encouraged to take this inaugural trip to Guatemala\, partnering with One More Child. \nA vibrant nation that is rich in Mayan heritage\, Guatemala continues to develop after years of civil and ethnic unrest. Guatemala has the 6th highest rate of growth stunting of children due to malnutrition\, according to a 2019 UNICEF report. About 1 million children under the age of 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition. Stunted growth can cause severe developmental delays and increase the risk of death. Through targeted feeding programs\, integrated social work\, counseling\, education\, and accountability\, children and families in their programs have access to the support they need to thrive. \nMinistry:\nServe and share the hope of the Gospel of Jesus with vulnerable children and those who have been affected by trafficking in Guatemala. As a secondary benefit\, we hope to provide our young adult community at FBC Boerne with a rich discipleship opportunity.
