Mission and Core Services

Texas Baptists operate with a mission to strengthen churches and ministers, engage culture, and connect the nations to Jesus. They execute this mission through several key ministry centers:

1. Center for Church Health: This center focuses on assisting local congregations in achieving spiritual vitality and growth. Services include guidance in discipleship, evangelism strategies, music and worship resources, church architecture consulting, and support for young adult ministries.

2. Center for Ministerial Health: Recognizing that the well-being of ministers is crucial to church health, this center offers resources such as counseling services, financial health programs, interim church services, and support for bi-vocational pastors.

3. Center for Cultural Engagement: This center addresses societal issues by promoting reconciliation and community building. It encompasses the Christian Life Commission, which provides ethical guidance, and various cultural engagement initiatives, including ministries tailored for different ethnic communities and chaplaincy relations.

4. Center for Missional Engagement: Committed to spreading the gospel, this center coordinates mission efforts locally and globally. It facilitates church planting, disaster recovery, community development, and partnerships with international mission organizations.

5. Center for Collegiate Ministry: Aiming to reach and disciple college students, this center supports Baptist Student Ministries (BSM) across Texas campuses, providing leadership training, evangelism opportunities, and community-building events.

Beyond these centers, Texas Baptists engage in various other ministries, including women’s ministries, young adult ministries, and Western Heritage ministries, which cater to the unique needs of different communities. They also maintain affiliations with educational institutions, healthcare systems, and other organizations to extend their mission’s reach. Through these comprehensive services, the Baptist General Convention of Texas remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering churches, supporting ministers, and impacting communities with the love and message of Jesus
