For families with kids 10+, encourage and support ministry partners and local pastors in light construction, VBS-style events, and outreach ministries.

Purpose of the Trip:

First Baptist encourages families to go on this trip and serve Jesus together! Not only will your family have an opportunity to grow in Christ and experience the joy of trusting God in a foreign context, but you will also serve a low-income community outside Cancun. This trip is perfect for families with children of all ages to participate and see God work in and through them.

Cuna Maya Colonia:

Youth With a Mission (YWAM) Cancun is a Missions Ministry that has been working among a squatter community outside of Cancun called Cuna Maya for almost 15 years. The community began many years ago as low-income families started building make-shift homes. The community has grown large, and many families have upgraded their homes to permanent structures. YWAM Cancun began a school there for unprivileged children many years ago, and in 2023, they graduated their first high school seniors.

At Cuna Maya, our team will work alongside the YWAM leaders and the school to teach, play, serve, and participate with the children there. We will embark on small service projects like building some simple wooden furniture for outdoor use (all construction will be child-friendly and include building elements children can complete). We will do VBS-type activities and share interactive Bible stories with the children. We will play and enjoy all that God has made your children and the children of Cuna Maya to be!

• March 10 – Day 2: Attend Church at Downtown Church – Meet YWAM Team Families
• March 11 – Day 3: Visit Cuna Maya School – Ministry Day 1
• March 12 – Day 4: Visit Cuna Maya School – Ministry Day 2
• March 13 – Day 5: Visit Cuna Maya School – Ministry Day 3
• March 14 – Day 6: Visit Cuna Maya School – Final Ministry Day 4
• March 15 – Day 7: Fun Day – Family-friendly excursion
• March 16 – Day 8: Travel home to San Antonio
