Uganda Mission Trip – Summer 2024

July 06, 2024

Work with our partners to serve and share God’s love with blind people, prisoners, and lay leaders through leadership training, light farm work, and teaching basic truths from Scripture.

  • EST. COST: $3,800/person

Purpose of the Trip:

It has been said that the African faith is a mile wide…but only an inch deep. This trip is designed to address that very problem. FBC members get a chance to serve our African brothers and sisters by sharing our faith in Christ Jesus. This hands-on service trip focused on developing Christian families and churches in three different parts of Uganda.

Tree Life Ministries:

FBC and Tree Life have been mission partners for thirty years. Located in the Eastern part of Uganda, Tree Life primarily trains and develops indigenous pastors to plant new churches. Here, you can expect to lead Bible studies and teach at the pastor’s college, serve the blind, and share your testimony in a prison.

Christway Church (African Renewal Ministries):

FBC has supported Christway Church in Kampala for three years and watched them build their church and plant two more. This very modern church has been remarkably successful in spreading the Gospel. This year, we expect to take the Gospel to a nearby slum by distributing food packages to starving people. Hopefully, we will also plant a new church this summer.

Celebrate Hope Ministries:

For several years, FBC and Celebrate Hope have partnered to combat this darkness by spreading the Gospel and the love of Christ and planting coffee farms for desperately low-income families. Celebrate Hope is in Rakai and Kyotera districts in southern Uganda, very close to the border with Tanzania. This is traditionally a spiritually dark area of the country where much of the population is animistic, worshiping many gods and idols. Witchcraft is everyday here, and seeing dark forces at work is not unusual. We sponsor a family for five years, teaching them how to grow coffee as a business. During that time, the families are also taught about King Jesus and His saving grace.

Challenge:

This is a long and difficult trip, both physically and emotionally challenging. You will be full of joy some days and heartbroken the next. But you will come home changed for life. Deeper in faith and closer to God. New relationships on the other side of the world that you love as your own. An appreciation for what you have and a longing for the simplicity you left behind. Very few people travel to Uganda once. This country draws you back one memory at a time.
