Book of Acts: Jerusalem Council

Book of Acts: Jerusalem Council

After Paul and Barnabas return to Antioch from their journey, the entire church meets in a large home for a meal and to hear the stories of what God had done on their amazing adventure. Peter was among the diverse crowd of Christians gathered there. When Christian Pharisees showed up, they were appalled by the mixing of Jew and Gentile and rebuked Peter for participating in such an 'unclean act.' Peter and even Barnabas take a step back and stop eating with Gentiles, drawing a public rebuke from Paul to Peter at the next Agape Meal. Paul reminds Peter that only Jesus makes one clean. Through Jesus, GOD fulfilled ALL cleansing required in the Law of Moses. Peter then repents and asks for forgiveness from the church.
