erspectives has been very eye-opening for me! Even though I have done short-term missions for ten years, I still had a lot to learn!
Do you know that God’s purpose is to have people from every single tongue and tribe on earth worshiping Him and bringing Him glory? For that to happen, we must reach every single group of people and teach them about Jesus. That is Jesus’ Great Commission, and our purpose is to complete that mandate.
I have enjoyed learning about how the church and missionaries have spread the gospel in the past and how organizations are currently working to translate the Bible into all the many dialects. The task ahead is daunting, but the verifiable progress is encouraging!! This class has helped me see what is being done and what still needs to be done!
In addition, I understand more clearly how God is at work to overcome every kind of evil in the world, and how He is marshaling His people to fight alongside Him. Jesus taught us to pray, “your kingdom come, your will be done, ON EARTH, as it is in heaven.” So many times I have prayed that prayer without realizing that God intends for His purposes and His goodness to be manifested right NOW on earth (not only when Jesus comes again) and that his abundant blessings, promised through Abraham, will be brought forth when His people rise up in worship and praise in every tongue!
Perspectives has given me a whole new perspective (imagine that!) on my faith and purpose! I highly recommend this course for every believer. With a God who loves us so completely, and a Savior who redeemed us so willingly, and a Spirit who guides us so gently, how can we not want to do our part to complete the work of our Lord?
